The Great Dane Club of Greater Omaha is
having a fund raiser at the Nebraska Kennel Club All Breed
Show on Sunday as well. We will have all new items the
second day of the show so if you didn't when it on Saturday
come see us on Sunday! The drawings will be held at 2:30pm
for this days fundraiser! Come help support the club and
take home some wonderful items at the same time, plus Danes
show at 10:45am so you can come by the ring and say hi!

"Talk To The
Danes"
The Great Dane Club of Greater Omaha
would like to invite you, your family and danes to join us
on Sunday, June 27th at 11:30 am to socially interact and
learn about this wonderful breed in a friendly environment!
Special Guest Ann
Heinrich (animal communicator) will be on site to talk to
your dane! A $10 donation per dane will go to The Great Dane
Rescue of Minnesota and Wisconsin. Please limit one dane per
household.
Ann will also be
giving a presentation on the GDRMN
We will be serving a
free lunch with beverages!
GDCGO's June meeting

"Meat" N Greet
The Great Dane Club of Greater Omaha invited the community
to join us for Meat "with a free lunch" and to Greet "the
Danes" in conjunction with the April meeting.

Donate your new
and used items to Danes in need for the holidays! As we
approach yet another winter season, the rescues start to
fill up with Danes looking for forever homes and the
list of supplies needed grows. So the Great Dane Club of Greater Omaha
is having a Round up for Rescue now through the end of December!
Suggested items are:
blanket/sleeping bags, towels, toys and kongs, dog beds,
collars or leashes, food/water bowls, flea/tick items,
grooming supplies
You can drop off your items at any of our meetings or
contact Jackie for pick up arrangements

The Great Dane Club of Greater
Omaha is taking part of the Omaha food Banks "Four
Legged Food Drive". The food drive starts July 6th
and goes through Labor Day and the goal is for 4000# of
dog food. People aren’t the only ones affected by
economic hard times and many people who receive
assistance and those who are barely getting by; will
feed their pets their own human food and go hungry
instead of letting their pets go hungry. So this is a
way for all of us to help our neighbors pets that are in
need! They only ask that the food be unopened; in
manufactured packaging and not expired. Any amount and
type will be accepted and if you live a distance away;
Jackie will take a check for any amount or a gift card
to either Pet Smart or
Petco. More information on this drive can be

In the month of August the Great Dane
Club of Greater Omaha will be taking your donations of
new and used items for S.O.L.A.S
Council Bluffs Animal Shelter and some of their supporting
veterinarians ( just another way to
give back to the community).

1st Annual Dane Drive ( Great Danes
giving back to their community )
The Great Dane Club of Greater Omaha is collecting donations
for the Assistance League of Omaha. We are asking for your
show suits that are too small or too big, house hold items
and books. Then all of the donations will then be dropped
off at the Assistance League of Omaha. They are a nonprofit
organization right here in our community that will sell our
items to fund programs like these:
Operation Bear Hug:
Assistance League provides 650 bears to
children who have been in crisis. The bears are distributed
through the Omaha Police Department and area agencies.
Operation Recovery: Residents of
Santa Monica, a home for woman recovering from drug and/or
alcohol dependency, receive vouchers for clothing from
Yesterday's Best, the
Assistance
League's Thrift Shop.
Assault Survivor Kits: Kits
containing a complete change of clothing and hygiene
products are provided to hospital emergency rooms and
shelters for victims of rape and other forms of violence.
More then 500 kits were delivered last year in our
community.
There are several other programs
that the
Assistance League of Omaha helps fund
right here in our community. If you would like to learn more

members will be participating in Oakland's annual city wide
garage sales. All proceeds of the sale will go to the GDCGO
to help get the club up and going. |
